CARET Legal is introducing access to an open API, providing a new way for law firms to connect their legal practice management software with the tools they rely on every day.
Being rolled out as a multi-phase launch, the CARET Legal API will ultimately allow firms to integrate custom applications, automate workflows, and connect with third-party software to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Phase 1: Matter Data Access
This first phase of the CARET Legal API release provides access to matter-related data, offering firms the ability to:
✅ Create, retrieve, and modify matters
✅ Work with custom fields, contacts, and notes
✅ Develop integrations tailored to their particular needs, specific to these services
With added capabilities, CARET Legal is giving law firms the power to take control of their workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and connect their most important tools without the roadblocks of manual data entry or disconnected systems.
CARET Legal + Lawmatics
To demonstrate what’s possible with CARET Legal API access, we’ve launched a pre-built integration with Lawmatics, a CRM and marketing automation platform designed for law firms.
With this integration, firms can:
- Capture more leads with optimized intake processes
- Create new matters and contacts in CARET Legal directly from Lawmatics leads
- Eliminate double data entry by automating client intake
- Gain deeper insights into case pipelines by connecting CRM data with legal case management
How the Lawmatics API Integration Works
- Select CARET Legal from the integrations menu in Lawmatics
- Sign into CARET Legal and configure how the data should sync
- Map Lawmatics fields to CARET Legal fields
- Click “Sync to CARET” from a Lawmatics matter
Note: This is a one-way sync—data moves from Lawmatics to CARET Legal, ensuring that client intake flows directly into the case management system without manual intervention.
